2017 Traders’ Camp

Successful Trading from A to Z

Cabarete, Dominican Republic, November 10 - 15, 2017

The Nicest Classroom in the World

We limit our Camp to 25 traders, to make sure you receive individual attention. You will live and work with a small group of traders at a beautiful hotel. Study and master new skills in your morning classes, then practice what you learned in the evenings, with Dr Elder's help. Share delicious meals and enjoy the company of Dr. Elder and other campers, with every dinner turning into a big friendly party. Come for several intensive days of trading, learning, and meeting other traders. Soak up powerful trading techniques in the charming environment of Dominican Republic. Your new friends will become a source of encouragement and trading ideas for a long time after the Camp.

Why Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is one of the most welcoming and stable countries in the Caribbean. This is reflected in its multinational population - you'll be running into people from Europe, Canada and the US who moved here permanently. It has a stable democracy, with boisterous but peaceful elections. Its economy is based on agricultural exports, primarily sugar, coffee and tobacco (bring all of the above home, including excellent Dominican cigars), with tourism, construction and gold mining becoming more important in recent years. All of this presents a sharp contrast with the neighboring Haiti with which DR shares the island, separated by a strong border.

The Dominican Republic has five international airports. The one you want to fly into is Puerto Plata (code POP). It is served by American, Jetblue, United, and many other US and international airlines. The village of Cabarete is about 20 minutes away. The Santiago airport (STI) is an hour and a half away, and the Santo Domingo (SDQ) airport over four hours.

The village of Cabarete consists of a single street along an over a mile long beach, shaped like a letter C. Every house is a small hotel or a bar, or a windsurfer rental place. The beach is sandy and safe, and as for windsurfing, it is considered the 10th best beach in the world.

The Velero Beach resort is located at the farther end of the C, in a park-like setting. Only 15% of the resort's land is occupied by buildings; the rest is greenery and a charming ocean-front swimming pool.
